KALS CONNECT – November 2025

Greetings to KALS members and KALS Connect subscribers.

We remind you that registration is ongoing. There many November and December courses that still have room for you. Here is a sampling:

Music

  • Jukebox Musicals: Listen to the tunes from “Mamma Mia”, “We will Rock You”, “Jagged Little Pill” and many more hits from Broadway musicals, and, between tunes, enjoy Julie Simmons’ stories from behind the scenes of the production.

  • The Beatles and Transformation: Find our how society changed along with the Beatles with Bruce Baugh.

  • Come to the Concert: Then there’s classical music with Rod Michell.

Science

  • Wildfire Recovery and the Intersection of Social-Ecological Systems

Calendar – Kamloops Adult Learners Society

Important Notice Regarding Fees

KALS intends to switch to a Kamloops-based registration system from the start of the September 2026 semester. We will, therefore, be issuing refunds for class cancellations only for the current and Winter semesters.

Please use any outstanding credits for registrations as we wish to minimize the liability for outstanding credits remaining at the end of the Winter semester. Please feel free to contact the Treasurer, Mike Baker, at mabaker@telus.net if you have questions.

You may also donate your outstanding credit to KALS and receive a tax receipt for amounts greater than $25. Contact Mike Baker mabaker@telus.net to arrange this.

KALS Leadership

KALS is a volunteer-led non-profit society. A list of Board members and Program Committee members can be found at About Us – Kamloops Adult Learners Society

Instructors also volunteer their time for which we are very grateful.

Volunteering for KALS

You can give back to KALS by joining other like-minded learners or working from home. Consider the following:

Program Committee: plan and host classes;

Publicity Committee: help us get the word out.
